Only thing I got today was home early.

1st round of No Box 8 drew Ricky Pena. He's a tough guy to beat. Matched him fairly well on the tree, and lost a double breakout by. 0036.

Box wasn't much better. Welded the guy to the tree .008 to his .042, then managed to short shift second and kill a tenth. All I could do was watch him drive by at the mph stripe.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Bright side is it was a beautiful day, car ran good, I finally hooked up to the tree, and got to see some friends.

My buddy John Haut was therein a "rental" race car. He lost both of his cars in a garage fire a couple months ago.

It can always be worse. :cry:

Mixed bag today. Since I was there yesterday, no time run today. Went 8.45 off the trailer yesterday, so I tried it again today. 1st round of No Box I drew a Nova dialed 6.19. Drove it out the back door and my win light came on. Scoreboard read 8.45. So far, so good.

1st round of Box I drew a Barracuda dialed 6:20. Went .009 red so I ran it out. 8:40. :shock:

Hit the buyback window. They ran buybacks separately so off to the buyback round. Got a Camaro dialed 5.58 Dialed 8:40 and crossed my fingers. Had room to lift at the big end but didn't. 8.37 breakout. :oops:
Done with Box.

2nd round of No Box I get the only car left on the property slower than me. Kid with a Fox body Mustang dialed 9.15. I dialed 8.37. I caught him just after the 330 clocks and hossed the gas on him 4 times. 8.50 with a .007 light. :lol:

3rd round is a 95ish Thunderbird dialed 6.39. I dumped him at the end, but his win light came on. He was .010 and dead on with a 7. I was .042 so I was done when I let go of the button.

My old friend Randy Frederick and his daughter came up to spectate as did an ex coworker and his wife. Coming back to the pits after the 2nd round I also spotted my friend Bill Van. He owns the Chrysler dealership I go to and is also a drag racer. So I went a couple rounds, hung out with friends, the car went back on the trailer under it's own power, and I joined Randy and his daughter for pizza on the way back to Milford. (Sorry, it wasn't Pizza Hut) :cry:

I put the car away for the winter. I am planning on a motor swap over the winter so hopefully next year I will have a little more steam under the hood. :mrgreen:

Thanks Lou. I bought the car to have a nice, reliable bracket car to race at RT 66 and 41 with an occasional trip to Coles County.

So far it's been to 7 tracks in 5 states. :lol:

I thought maybe you'd be around for London,KY, but maybe you have other things going on that weekend.

There is a plant shutdown scheduled for that weekend Friday through Monday so no chance to get off. :cry:

I made fewer passes this year than any other since I got the car. It was also at 3 tracks in 3 different states, none of them in Illinois. :shock:

It was lots of fun getting out and seeing lots of people I haven't seen in years though. I am hoping to have more time next year. :D

Well, no motor swap yet but I did pre enter the Twin $10K races for May 20-22. Double entered in Box and No-Box again. :oops:

I are dumb. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hopefully I can at least get a few hits in at 41 before then. :mrgreen:
