Seymour is definitely the king of the Iron Butt Riders.

The vision of him and his 7 month pregnant daughter at a Slant race in St. Louis ON THEIR WAY TO DRAGWEEK is forever the top of my list for tough, especially when the whole week was near 100°.

Greg, you also have to recall I had a pig 66 that ran 12.0s when you were still putting yours together. Seymour straightened me out as to what constituted a "real" street car too.

I guess since Rick grew feathers I'll call Stan out. Heads-up during time runs, $100 and the money goes to the Slant race payout.

A few interesting discoveries working on the engine.

I put a dial indicator on my Cox/RAS? Roller rockers.
Marked with a 1.5 under roller tip.
They were purchased as 1.5 rockers.
They measure as 1.6 rockers!

I wanted to check the spec on a Roller Cam I purchased from Cox Brothers a few years ago.
No cam card furnished.
Now that I have some roller rockers I can run the numbers.
Problem, It won't clear the cam bearings as it goes in half way.
Will and I have been talking and my cam is a number after his.
He spoke to the vendor and they said my cam was not ground when it left the plant.
Now I know it has never been ground.

I have 3 copper head gaskets here, 2 new, 1 used.
#1 is .040, CHECK, #2 marked as .040, NO CHECK, it measures .030, #3 used, .028, kinda weird, I guess it got squeezed.
I guess....

I used the 3 gaskets to add deck height so I could check piston to valve clearance.
I got a measurement today after I got some Manley 7 deg. retainers to fit the valves.
What I measured was what I expected with this big head cut.

Now I need some springs.

Nice measurements. Most of the roller cams were sold as blanks (like the one I have from Dave/Oregon). Oregon or someone else can grind it. Nice surprise on the rockers. What is your chamber cc?

Fun fun fun...

Lou

Mind your own business, you have work to do.

I am owner, driver, mechanic, PR idiot and bank roller on this deal.

I checked them over and over.
Worst part was I assumed they were something, but they were something else.
Good thing I know how to clay a piston.
And that I have a REV Limiter.

That reminds me, I need to turn the limiter down for the "big" race coming.
