If you want to cook, go for it. However, I bet you'll have enough to do without cooking for 3-4 other people, so definitely do not feel obligated. We are totally happy to meet at a restaurant.

I propose we leave your town by around 9 AM so we can get to Kearney with plenty of time to hang out. It would be cool to maybe see Mike's place, if he's up for that. Seymour, what say you?

Lou
Well my shop is kinda out of the way so if getting down there early is priority #1 I think Becky and I should just meet you at a restaurant along the way (Windom or Worthington are about the closest towns with restaurants.)

Hmmm... going to Mike's. I should really bring a cylinder head along for him to work some magic on

Edit: I don't know why I forgot but the Happy Chef in St. James just re-opened. My farm is 10 miles away from there

If we met in St. James at 8:30AM and left there at 9:30AM we could probably get to Lexington by 6PM. That would mean leaving Minneapolis about 6:30AM or so which is about as early as I could get going. Are we going to meet Friday at the Lexington Pizza Hut? Which city are people staying in on Friday night?

OK, I just got off the phone with Mike J. He will be staying in Kearney for the weekend so no one has to drive back and forth from Lexington. Friday night at the Kearney Pizza Hut is a go.

The track is definitely closed Friday. It officially opens at 1 Saturday, but if you call Mike and leave your name he will be able to get you in as early as 8 am with Reed Koppe's deal. Mike's number is 308/324-3576.

Camping is allowed Saturday night only. :D

Which hotel is everyone staying at? I'll camp Saturday at the track but we are going to find a place to lay our heads Friday night.

(just give the name, I will go back and look for the number posted earlier in the thread)

OK, we'll leave Mpls at 6:30 and get to Chris' Happy Chef in St. James at 8:30, which I assume is right on the way to Kearney.

I think Neal and I will wing it with the hotel til we get there, or follow Seymour's lead if he has a reservation. Let's try to stay at the same place, yes.

I have some wicked turbo parts to show you guys...

Great!!

Lou

Just talked to Mike, he is scouting motels tomorrow. I will talk to him Wednesday or Thursday and post where he picks. :D

Got the car running today. It comes up on the limiter on the brake so I am hoping it may run.

I am going to try to get to 41 Wednesday night for some T&T.

Sounds great, Dennis!

Keep all the parts inside at T&T.

Would be cool to all stay at the same hotel.

Lou

Mike Jeffrey scouted out the motels in Kearney and recommends the Best Western at 411 2nd Ave. (There may be more than one BW in town) their phone number is 308-234-2541. There might be less expensive options available but this one has good trailer parking facilities. I just made a reservation for Friday night, at $89. If you don't have any other discounts Mike said they will give you 10% for being a Slant 6 racer.
