So, 1 run for 3 yards, you want to bet on the gap too? How about punk out money in case one of us can't show? Mine will be sitting in the car tomorrow. |

I did not call Stan a punk. Punk out money would only be paid by the one who doesn't show up. Just trying to protect the race payout. |

How can a new car beat a scienced out multiple winning car and combination? How about punk out money in case one of us can't show? Mine will be sitting in the car tomorrow. My money will be there. My engine is in. I didn't know you were an Olympic swimmer! What was your best event, Back Stroke? You have to drive it, no Nitrous, no funny business. |

I won't need no steenking nitrous to dispatch you. Mine's in the car. My car will have a different motor, converter, and gear. 0 passes on any in this car. Scienced out? Ok. Congratulations on getting yours running! |

Working on a few details. The PO had milled the rocker pedestals off and I thought I had the aluminum blocks in the right places. It seems I had #7 on backward. I pulled the VC and didn't have oil to the rocker shaft. So I did some looking closer and made a few changes. I ran it again and it was better. I made another mod and put it back together for another check tomorrow. I am going to redesign and get some new blocks made if I stay with this head. I checked with RJS Harness on my belts. $84 for recertification. $91 for new belts at Summit. |

Trust me, nobody wants to see that Colt go fast more than me. If Stan picks my pocket so be it. I'm just hoping he tightened the cam bolt this time. |

Not sure if you want it anymore than I do. But it's for a good cause. And it's torqued. |

Dave M got me thinking so I pulled a few rockers after the last engine run. I pulled the number one rocker bolt and the shaft was full of oil. So I think I am where I want to be on oiling. I checked the inside of a few rockers and they all looked like new. I wanted to be sure they didn't get scored or galled with the low oil flow. So it's time for water and a long run to get the cam and lifters introduced to each other. We are getting some severe weather this weekend. We should be fine but usually when it leaves Texas it seems to just get worse wherever it keeps going to. Hope it's a non-event for everyone. |

I ran the engine today for about 15 minutes. A couple of heat cycles and higher RPM to get everything friendly. A water leak at the thermostat housing was easily fixed, NOT. But fixed and everything did as expected. So time to drain the coolant and the oil and see what that looks like. New filter, head re-torque, lash the valves again and we should be close. Oh yea, I ran it out of gas! |
