can i drop a 1980 slant six from a volare in my 1970 plymouth valiant without a problem? |

That should work pretty easily. I think the valiant oil pan is bigger, so you might not even need to switch pans. You'll see some little stuff, but if you have both motors till the end of the swap, I can't think of any big snags. You'll want to update your wiring to work with the electronic distributor. |

You can actually drop the engine in without a real hitch, I put a '76 cast crank Volare engine into a '75 Dart Sport once. If you just need a 'quick' swap/ weekend quick change, you can just use your points distributor/etc... and it should run OK. Later as time permits look at the wiring diagrams in the 'artcles' section and 'improve' your harness from the parts of the Volare's harness and get EI and the Electronic Voltage Regulator. good luck, -D.Idiot |
