Some time ago, I recall seeing a nifty trouble light on a retractable reel in some vehicle. Anyone know where I should look?

Memory says late '80s Jeep Cherokees, and '90s GM trucks had them. One used a spring retractor mechanism (Jeep?), the other had a hand crank (GM?).
Of course, my memory fails me regularly, so....
