Keep in mind this is for a teenager and they often enjoy a few more decibels than some of us. What would give a good performance exhaust note with a single muffler? Thanks!

I had Midas put on one of their turbo mufflers. We wanted it to have a nice low rumble but not be loud and cracking or illegal. Plus the Midas guarantee was nice. We like ours and supposedly they get a bit more rumble as they age.

i put a flowmaster on mine and it sounds real good. of course i have the clifford dual headers which merge into one and then go to 2.5 inch pipe. are you going to be putting headers or anything else on? midas is probably the most affordable.

No headers at this time, just the stock manifold, 2-1/4 inch pipe and muffler. May go with the flowmaster. Thanks.

Jeff is a Magnaflow dealer and a huge supporter of the Slant 6 series. He put a Magnaflow on my Dakota R/T and it has a very nice sound without being obnoxious.

He also used to be a Flowmaster dealer but gave up on them because of quality/warranty issues.

you can put what would be a really noisy muffler on but with out headers you won't get near as much sound out of it. I have a Cherry bomb Turbo that was really quiet untill the headers went on.

i have a 2 chamber flowmaster on mine, i like it alot, it isnt really too loud. i drove the car to carlisle this year (6 hrs ) and it didnt give me a headache at all and i could hear the radio just fine. car is 2.5" from hearder, to 2.25" muff and 2.25" tailpipe. its perfect IMHO.
