Check to see if your accelerator pump is working. Look down the throat of the carburetor and oper and close the throttle rapidly. You should see a stream of gasoline shoot out. If not, it is probably clogged with trash. These things shoot through a real small orfice and are easily stopped up.

i did that and there is gas going in but it still stalls out. What else could be the problem?

Post subject:  Re-carb....stalls

It sounds like it is definately in the accelorator circuit and if you have checked the pump you might inspect the ball check that is supposed to close when the accel. pump pushes the gas into the carb. Mine does exactly what you are describing and I know the ball check is not seating properly. If you get a fix for yours. please let know what it is. Later.

Time to get carb rebuild kit. This comes with consumeables and one tiny
steel bearing ball. Used a old ball from the carb and a punch, small hammer.
One light decent smack reseats the seat and throw old one away or as weight ball. Put new one and extra ball as weight ball before reassembling. This what I had done to do on holley 5220 carb.

Carefully examine the new steel bearing ball. Should be no nicks. I had one right there from new box of rebuilding kit. Luckily bought two rebuilding kits, one had wrong set but most of it is same for mine. Whew.

Cheers,

Wizard
