Hey Everybody, I cannot seem to get decent timing on my /6. Its a points distributor and we have replaced all servicable parts. When timed to the factory specs, the engine won't run part throttle. It'll idle but dies when you touch it. It'll run fast as you please above 30 MPH. When the timing is advanced to say 5BDC, then the "Hole" is almost gone but the engine pings all to hell when you get into it! I've got about 6psi of fuel pressure, no bubbling in the fuel filter, and proper vacuum. Any ideas? |

It sounds like you need to recurve the distributor and take some of the mechanical advance out of it. Do you know how much total advance you get? See some of the recent distributor posts: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10744 http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7954 http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10435 DD |

Hi DD, I am considering getting a fellow /6er here to sell me a recurved Distributor. I'll read through those posts. I was sure somebody else had a similar problem, and was counting on someone pointing me to them |
