My 66 Darts radiator is shot. I don't need an exact replacement. But I would like to be as bolt in as possible. I do want the flexibility of using an automatic or standard trans. and to be able to use the same radiator if I decide to go to a v8 at some point. Any recommendations?

I put a 1979 Volare radiator in my 65 Cuda. I think I had to redrill the holes because the radiator sat to low with the stock holes. Other than that it is a perfect fit. Mine is the /6 radiator. I have had two in there now. I would expect the 66 Dart to use the same rad.

The first was a JY radiator and when it gave up I bought a new one part #525. It might be a Modine number but I am not sure of that.

if you might go to a V8, start off with a heavy-duty radiator to begin with. Spectra premium CU526 is a 22" wide A-body radiator. Bottom hose outlet is in the lower right corner, so that'll work fine with either a '70-up slant-6 lower radiator hose, or a '70-up V8 water pump housing and lower hose. Upper hose outlet is closer to the top-left than to the top-right, so you'd have to find a top hose that'll get you where you need to go (shouldn't be too hard, you can either keep the \6 vertical-outlet water neck or change to the V8 straight-type water neck). Alternatively, a radiator shop can move the top outlet for you.

Be careful when you shop; new-aftermarket radiator quality is a real crapshoot these days. Pick a major North American brand (Modine or Spectra Premium); avoid the off-brand junk coming in from China (Ready-Rad, etc.). The Chinese stuff costs a lot less...for a really good reason. It doesn't work well or last long.
