 Post subject: Head porting ?

I am porting a 77 head. Ive looked at the pic's from Doc but do not see what I'm looking for. My question is on the sides of the bowl area. How far can you take out the side between the exhaust and intake valves in the same chamber?

The port walls in that area are .200 thick. The walls are a little thicker near the valve seat and get thinner as they move towards the guide.
