| Post subject: | How can I remove the glove box lock? |
Since we are now finished with the body work, Aaron and I are beginning to detail the interior of his "Dartster" project car. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove the lock from the glove box. Anyone know how to do it? Jerry |

It's been a while since I had mine apart, but I think the assembly is held together with either a spring or a clip that isn't obvious at first glance. I think you also have to turn it to a certain point in the cylinder and depress the spring or clip and then pull it apart (2 pieces). Take the whole glove box door off if trying to see all the parts is making you nuts while it's in the car. |

You should see a small hole in the middle of the latch knob. stick a straight pin or piece of wire into the hole to unlock it. |

I took it to a locksmith. You have to depress the keeper pin while the key is in the lock. I didn't have my key with me, so he had to use a little tool to rake the tumblers and get them to line up, first. Thanks for the comments, Jerry |
