Chryco was the Canadian equivilant of the term Mopar during the 60s. If you are asking whether the Canadian Winter Package heaters used on Chryco vehicles are any good , the answer is yes. Properly maintained these heater/defroster setups are as good as many newer cars. The package used a 195 thermostat.
Most older A bodies need new defroster ducting. It pays to weather seal the vent doors. We use duct tape to seal them shut for the winter months.
It is a good idea each fall to clean out leaves and debris from the heater core area. Open vent , reach in and swipe. I wear gloves for this.
I usually reverse flush the heater core for a few days each fall by reversing heater hoses.

The unofficial winter package uses a piece of cardboard in front of the rad. A more sophisticated approach deletes the fan for winter. (We dont use a fan winter or summer)
