My rear end is starting to get some nice vibration, as well as a knock on gearshift(sometimes). anyway, just wondering if i should drive it till it breaks, or is this a saftey issue with lockups and such? its not making any noise, and im pretty sure its stock, '72! |

Are you 100% sure its the rear, not driveline/ujoint issue? Pole vaulting with the driveshaft isn't fun. I'd look into it before driving it again. Not only for safteys sake, but if you catch the issue now, the repair bill may be less then if you do more dammage. Then again around here a rear end is less then $100 drum to drum. Check oil level and wheel bearings as well. Last thing you want to see is one of your rear axles passing you when your driving. |

Yeah, and axle bearings won't give all that much warning. I've had an axle from a 7.25" do just that to me before. Some of the ball bearings were cracked in half!

If you die, you might have more on your mind then car troubles, but we'd certianly like to hear from a dead guy |
