:cry: i have 2 1980 dodge miradas ..one with a 318 v8 and one with a slant 6 225. i would like to know if the tranny fron the slant 6 would fit on the v8... and how could i tell what transmission they are?

Pat....sorry.....you are out of luck on this one. The slant and small blocks have different bell housing bolt patterns, and as such, the transmissions will not interchange.

You could, however, swap the internals around from housing to housing, as long as they're identical trannys, (and you're inclined to).

We sell an adapter plate that will allow you to bolt up a SB bolt pattern transmission to a /6. Mostly this setup is used by guys who want to run an OD tranny like the A500 behind a slant. Could also be used to run a SB scattershield.

That adapter plate looks great. Where might I find one? With today's gas prices an OD tranny might just do the trick. It would also help keep the RPM lower at higher speeds on the /.
