I was wondering how fast i could get a 232 straight 6 to go on a budget(300.00-below) and naturally aspirated to go on the 1/4 mile ![]() |

I'm no expert on AMC sixes, but I do know they are decent performers in stock form and like any engine, they respond to better breathing and lower gearing. I know they made some performance parts for that engine, but you would probably have to get in contact with an AMC club and tap their knowledge and resources. Since that engine is now a Mopar relative through marriage, I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences as you look for more power. Here's a web site that might help: http://www.planethoustonamx.com/parts%2 ... cation.htm |

i would suggest that you swap in a 258 straight six from a Gremlin. These things had incredible torque. |

Isn't the Jeep 4.0 liter basically the same engine as the 258? If so, converting to FI should be relatively easy. |
