...out of a brand-new, perfect '62 Plymouth. So the knucklehead owner can make a "race car".

Anybody in NJ want to go break this guy's face for me?

At least he's trying to sell the Slant instead of just tossing it into the junk.

Gimme a break. Slant-6 engines are not rare. They're everywhere.

Brand-new 1962 Plymouths are not.

If I found a super-low mile '62 Plymouth 2-door with a /6, I'd probably yank the /6 and deploy a 440...

I'd probably race it, but I certainly wouldn't cut it up or butcher it, so if that's what this cat's doing, then I agree, that's a sin!

That car really needs to be kept original and Im sure that someone here could come up with a body for this guy to make a race car out of to keep him from dismantling a true survivor.

Yeah? Well, make with the 2-door body, then. He sent me this e-mail in response to my eBay online question to him:

From: guth50@optonline.net

Dear Dan,

Find me a decent two door post car and
i'll trade you straight up. This is my 3rd 1962 SAvoy. It happens to be
the first model car i ever owned and although not the most attractive
vehicle ever made, is my personal favorite. Honestly though, there is
little market for 62 Plymouths.(especially 4 doors) The car is worth maybe
a few thousand dollars at best. In truth, this car in this condition with
a 800 hp motor will be "worth" a great deal more.... to me. The "to me"
part is important. The way i see it, i am creating, not destroying. It
will be transformed into a magnicient racing machine. It will be on
display at cars show for many to admire. It will race at many tracks,
entertaining those who watch. It is a matter of perspective. Find me a
(local) solid 2 door post car and i'll cancel the auction.

I do have access to a 64 Dodge 330 2 door post but it is very rusty and not local.
I can understand his point and it is his car.I have never owned a car that I HAVE NOT modified and I personally enjoy modified cars but I have neverhad a car that was in as good of shape as that one, most of my stuff was crusher material.
Well, maybe at least some will get the engine and keep another old car going for several more years.

Hmmmmm, where is this 330, and how much $$$? I'm building a '64 330 2-door post car for street/strip and could use some parts... (incidently, it was a /6 three-on-the-tree car from the factory, but all will be glad to know that it was long gone when I got the car ;) The current plan is hemi conversion heads on the 440 (time and $$$ permitting).
