I have 2 complete super six intakes, exhaust and carbs with kickdown linkages. I sent one out to be blasted and ceramic coated to keep the engine area looking good.
The guy at the shop told me to remove the heat riser because what he does would probably render it useless. So I removed the heat riser assembly.
I was told to get a new one at the local mopar dealer. but as I should have expected. They are no longer available.

SO is there any suggestions as to where to get a repair kit(?) for one.
Worse case, I have a friend who is good with a welding torch to put it back together.
I was hoping to replace the coil springs, but all I can find online is a listing for a heat riser for a Hemi. I don't think this is the correct application.

So any help I can get here would be appreciated.

If I read you correctly, you're using the late-style ('73-up) exhaust manifold with the large (about 2-1/2" round heat riser counterweight. The repair kit for this should in fact still be available from the dealer -- try asking the parts counterman to look for a manifold heat control valve for an '86 D150 with 3.7 litre engine.

If you strike out with this, there are LOTS of these kits available as New Old Stock. Get a part number and you'll have one within two minutes' searchtime.

That's correct. I got one from a 78 Diplomat and the other from an 80 Diplomat station wagon. Both have the round counter weight on them
I was able to get one off, still in great shape the other I had to have heated up and hammered off.

Inside of the heat riser assembly one has the flapper that seems to have a notch cut off of it and the other is a full flap. Would one shape be better than the other? I will see what the dealer still has in stock.

I have only one carb off of the station wagon, but the choke pull off is missing. It had a manual choke hooked up to it. It's a Carter.
I just got another Carter off of Ebay from a 80 Road Runner super six. Which has the choke pull off still on it.
I can't be certain that it is as advertised. I only remember the earlier RR's having the V8's. But It looks the same configuration as the first one I got.

I measured both of the exhaust outlets and one is 2" and the other is less than that. Maybe 1 7/8" (guessing) So I am using the 2" from the station wagon.

I had the parts person look up both the 78 and 80 Diplomat, and had no luck. I then asked him about the 86 D150 p-up The system came up with the same description and picture for part numbers.

Everything came up NS1, not in stock in the USA and no dealer has one on the shelves.

So I guess I will be asking my friend to braze the one back on for me. I did take a few digital pics of it in both fully closed and open position so I can get this back on correctly.

Yeah, fine, sure, NS1, etc.

So what's the part number? As I said, there are still lots of these kits available even if they come up NS1.

The diagram from the printout from the dealer has 4 parts that I probably need. These part #'s are listed for the 86 D150 as you suggested. They are probably the same for all slant's.

part #15 is 04186175 which is identified as the Exhaust Manifold Heat control package.

The blow up diagram shows it contains the counter weight, and thermastat with the shaft.

part #9 for the control valve shaft spring is 01639597
and a pin for the heat control valve shaft spring is part #10 is 03462514
part #12 is the heat control valve stop spring 02946107

(Got your private message -- no problem, you're welcome. A competent parts man could've found these almost as fast, and more besides. Sometimes you get a lazy one and you have to specifically say "Can you please run a locate on that number to check for remaining stock?".)

Matt, if you haven't bought the kit yet, please let me know. I bought a kit for my '79 Aspen w/Super Six years ago and never installed it. If mine is the part number that you need then you can have it for the price of shipping from Iowa - probably a couple of bucks.

I already contacted Brad's NOS parts. I spoke with Danielle and ordered the pin and spring. I received those already via UPS.

Brad's NOS parts is very fast shipping, so if anyone is going to contact them keep in mind their minimum shipping is $8.00 UPS. If they had all of the parts it would have been a done deal by now.

I was going to wait for tomorrow to contact Arizona parts. They have some inventory on the counterweight and shaft. (Jan 3rd) They are closed for the holidays.

If your kit contains the counter weight, shaft and the flap (?) for the inside of the manifold let me get more info and contact you. I would prefer to help someone get rid of some parts they don't need anymore. I am happy to give a fare price.

I still have to rebuild the carb, so a few days won't stop me from doing other things to my Dart
