Do you have a link? I'd like to see that. eBay makes people insane or retarded, I haven't figured out which, though (both?) ...or maybe it's got a trunk full of gold bars, so I shouldn't say until I've seen it, huh?

I make no apologies for thinking this car is stupid and a waste of what was once a nice '61 Valiant.

A discussion of this car came up on another group I belong to about 2 months ago. Everyone thought it was insane. All I can say is that's a lot of money! I wish my paint looked that nice!

I make no apologies for thinking this car is the best looking '61 Valiant I have ever seen. This from a guy who would love to stuff a 383 in a '63-66 A body....

There was a thread on this car on Moparts a couple weeks ago. General consensus is that it is a scam auction. Rumor had it that reserve is around $65,00 or so.

It appears to be an incredibly nice car.

My buddy just stuffed a 383 in a '62 Valiant (think solid axle, fenderwell headers, carbs and tires hangin' out everywhere gasser wars :D )

It screams cool, one of the bitchenest cars at the track!

as far as I'm concerned, this car shouldn't be looked at with historical critical eyes. It's a custom... I love some things and hate another ones at the same time... I do have BMW buckets and I know how much I paid for those, so I can start figuring out from there and I'm pretty sure that the guy that built this car has spent pretty much the amount he's claiming (give or take one or two thousands... wich in most car will be 100)

seems like a nice car for some yuppie or pressario willing to get all the female atention :) and nice nuff to bitch all other cars around.

If I'd have all the money I want to have, I still prolly wouldn't buy it, I prefer to spend my money on the car while I'm greasing my fingers. And I'd get a '68 charger hemi and manual 4 speed... :)

I'd rather buy slantsixdan's lancer. That's bitchin without attempting against the car spirit.

Im at nearly $10.000 over a period of 8 years now spend in my 69 valiant and not even half as great as this car is

how? ....especially if you live in the Caribbean ...I'll have to order chrome parts that I can't find here ...from wildcat
ship to my country (shipping cost and import taxes) then to be chromed in Netherlands

this guy spend ALLOT of money to have that car in that condition

    Very Nicely done...

That depends on your definition of "great". The leather interior, OK, I guess, but the cheesy aluminum billet stuff and center console and all that...yucky-doo. Also it has too many cylinders and half of 'em are on the wrong side of the engine bay.

It's "unique", I guess. I'll give it that.

I wonder if that's what Virgil Exner had in mind when his guys penned that car in 1958?

I'd buy it in a minute for ($4,800). Of course I'd pay even more if it had an all aluminum DOHC, 24 Valve, Fuel Injected Slant 6 with an aluminum case 5 speed transmission and independent rear suspension. Oh what might have been :D

Post subject:  $48,000 Valiant on E-Bay

I seen the Valiant in person this past summer at the Chrysler show in Carlisle. At the time, I believe the car had a sticker on it for around $65,000. In my opinion, it looks like a car that was built on overhaulin. The work on this car is excellent, but I guess I believe in keeping things original or like factory appearence. Why ruin a great car by turning it into a street rod.? This car also has had a feature in Mopar Colectors Guide, maybe a year ago.
