Is it necessary to replace the plug wires on my 73 Dart with the same type wires currently on the car? I am thinking about upgrading the old ones with a newer type without the large rubber boots. |

the rubber boots were there to prevent dirt from getting in there. i don't have them on my car and no problems yet. zedpapa |

You can also just switch boots so that you have new wires with old style boots. I seem to recall that it just took a lot of patience and WD40. |

Got my new wires from Mancini yesterday. Very good price and quality. I saw the same wires on EBAG too with a price $10 higher plus shipping! I can see that I will be changing the length on a couple of wires because I'm a neat freak. The wires on the car weren't that old, but I wanted to donate them to my grandson's car. His were in sad shape, and I thought, gee, I'll get some new ones, put them on my car and give him the old ones. Kill two birds with one stone. Summary: thanks for your help! |

If its the standard straight long style boot ya want, what works even better than WD-40 is vaseline, this way the WD-40 doesnt drip all over the wire and make impossible to get ahold of or keep in your grasp. |
