I need to find out how to tell what size rearend I have. It is a 63valiant, I don't know how many different sizes they made or how to tell by looking. What do I do? Thank You crooked6 |

It is a 10 bolt rearend. If it is stock, what ratio is that? |

Then you have a 8 1/4" rear. Look for a little tag under one of those bolts. It has the ratio stamped in it, or something else... |

I hate to say it, but if it had a tag it is long gone by now. The car is old after all. Anyway, my search continues for this ratio. I need this because I'm am trying to buy the proper speedogear to the tranny. I need rearend ratio and tire diameter, the latter being easier to figure out |

jack the rear end up turn the wheel 1 full turn count the number of turns the driveshaft turns. 2 and 3/4 turns 2.73:1 almost 3 turns 2.94:1 if both wheels turn the same direction you have a posi rear end . you can jack up 1 side and turn the up wheel 2 turns and count shaft turns |
