| Post subject: | upper rad hose? |
I scored a brand new rad out of a 77 Volare with a 318 the other day, and I noticed the water outlet is at the corner of the tank rather than the middle. Has anyone used one of these rads in their Slant? I suppose I could take both rads to a shop and have the upper tanks swapped, but if someone knows of a molded hose that would fit this application it would save a lot of work. Apparently theyre a funny rad to build. Thanks... |

If the fitting is at the top right corner, the hose you need is a Gates 20450. If it's at the top left corner, I donno, but I've seen it done, so the right hose must exist. (In that case, you may want to install the straight V8 water outlet so you could use a very simple 90°-curve hose, rather than the Slant-6 "points up" water outlet). |

My '74 Dart has the outlet on the left corner, so you might be able to use the hose for this car. |

Don't they make a universal flexible type radiator hose? |

Flex hoses are not a good first choice. They restrict flow due to the "pleats" needed for flexibility, and they look cheesy. |
