Car Model:
I'm interested in buying a Mercedes Gullwing replica car that has a slant six in it.

I'd like to be able to identify the engine type in the car. Are there any ways to ID the engine as far as displacement, horsepower etc? Are there any tips on things to watch out for? I don't know what type of carb is on the car or the state of the motor until I go see the car. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a cool car. 8)
Check this article:
http://www.slantsix.org/articles/dutra- ... blocks.htm
See how many freeze plugs are on the drivers side of the block.

There are some other helpful articles off the home page, look for the one from Frank Ackins, that will give you some good background on the Slant.

Sounds great
If you like the car buy it, the engine is easy to replace.
