This is a message for anybody who has bought or is planning on buying a rechromed bumper. Don't make the mistake I made and buy from the bumper boyz. They do no surface prep at all and don't even copper coat it before they are rechromed. All of this equals major rust. If flaked a piece of the chrome plating off of the back of my bumper today and was surprised to find rust. So I wire brushed down the entire backside and it was just one big pile of rust. I sanded it down to bare metal and painted the backside with a thick epoxy. If you have recently bought a rechromed bumper, check the backside before it rusts all the way through. Hopefully yours was prepped and copper coated unlike mine. The fact that they acid dip these things prior to chrome plating does'nt help things any either.

Bumper Boyz are not the place to go for a chrome part for a car you're going to keep. It is a classic case of "you get what you pay for". Spend a little more up front and get a better job. Bumper Boyz have a 1 yr warentee. After about a 1 1/2 years the bumber on my Cuda started getting rust spots. Called them up and the offered me 10% discount on a replacement. I would have to pay shipping both ways from Fl to Calf. No thanks.
Hey Jeb. Bet you got yours at Daytona, like I did. We could both go over there for the Spring meet in March, and stand by their sales area, with our bumpers, for all to see.
