Hi everyone. Does anyone have an idea which makes more power on the Slant 6: The new HyperPak intake, or Pro-Line Fuel's dual Weber intake?

Opinions?

Thanks!

I think the long runners of the HP would put it above all the rest.

Just checked the Proline fuel website, and it looks like their still closed for business. I'd love to have that setup on my slant, but doesn't look like its available right now.
I was reading a post on another site, and Chris I think it is, from Proline was saying that the price of the webbers has gone way up recently, and if he was selling the dual setup it would be more like $1500. instead of $785 like his website states.
Maybe he'll open up again soon, but no way to know. And the setup would now be out of my price range.
Oh well. Thats why I'm going with the Supersix setup for now.

Whew. $1500 definitely puts the Pro-Line setup out of my range. Thanks for the info!

I did see that Offy makes a dual one-barrel intake for the slant six, but I haven't seen a picture, nor any flow specs. Anyone?

Thats the same manifold that Proline uses,, they just modify it to hold the two barrel webber carbs.

indeed it is. They also have a triple version or used to. Several people on the list have this manifold and like it--mine is supposed to arrive this week =)

The dual carb Offy is not great for HP. Looks cool though, and gives good mileage/HP with the right carb setup.

For best HP, I recommend the Clifford standard 4bbl manifold (not Hyperpak). For street performance, the Offy 4bbl gives a little more low-end power. Hyperpak will probably be finicky on the street.

I always heard (and look into dyno charts) that dual 1 barrels makes more power than one single 2 barrel, due to crosspulse elimination. I feel like anything over 400 cfm on a non-all-racing slant wouldn't give more low end pep, actually I think that would kill low end driveability.
that's my 2 cents.

I like the dual setup! nice looking motor, 63dart.

here in argentina we had a special edition 65 valiant GT (same model as american dart 63) with this dual one barrels setup outta the factory, and gives 35 hp more than the same engine with the supersix carter carb. This is factory specs, but I tell you, you can feel the seat of the pants diffrence as well, and it kills on low end.

Great replies... keep 'em coming.

Can't get over the great looks of that dual Offy. How about adapter plates to get the Weber two-barrels on this manifold? I know they make the adapters.

Anyone have experience with the Weber 2 Barrels? Are they as good as I have heard?

Thanks as always for everyone's input.

You might be able to get Doc to comment on the webers when he has time--I know that I saw a picture of them on his dart a little while back. He was testing them out for proline fuel so he might be able to tell you.

Someone said the offy2x1 is easily modified for 2xcarterbbd.
Is there any 1bbl carbs out there that was not designed in the 50s?

The people i've talked to have used the Carter BBSs for this setup and liked them. I had considered using the more complicated 74 BBS that has 2 stage metering. What kind of carb would you like to use?
