I pushed the oil dipstick tube back into the block, but it seemed a little loose. I didn't have it's brace bolted up, but it felt like it should be tighter in the hole. Is there supposed to be an O-ring to help seal it off at the opening? One more thing, the little flanged neck that should seat on the block looked like someone had squeezed it in a vise, because it had flat spots on opposite sides. Is that correct, or did someone mess it up? Jerry |

Yep, just presses in. Put a little "Type 2" permatex or some silicone on it before you push it in if you want. The other part sounds like somebody put some kind of tool on it, but if it goes in fine, I doubt is going to be a problem. D/W |

Thanks Dennis, looks like a sealant is just the ticket to prevent a possible oil leak. Jerry |
