howdy y'all...i tried to post here a wile back but i dont member if it worked or not lol....well im building a 225/3 speed on the floor combo for my 67 dart...should i go with a super six and a demon 2bbl or get a offy and a holly 4bbl? where can i get cams and whats a good cam to use? were can i get headers? any one runing a combo like this? hows it work with the 3 spd? whats it good for in the 1/4? (not my point of building the motor just wonering)...thanks y'all

I would go with the Super six if I were you. Don't buy a remanufactured carb, their junk. The 71-77 cam is the best stock cam you can get. I would stay away from headrs if I was you and go with a set of Dutra duals. Ths will enable you to retain the heat riser because wthout it your car will rn like crap. The later three speeds were pretty tough and Hurst makes an awesome shifter for them. The clutches sucked, however.

Ok now for answers thet make sense. If you dont have plans to do head work ie: shave for compression and porting then a 4 barrel is overkill. It would look cool but you would almost never use the secondaries. go with the super six.
Headers are a great way to increase flow and lowend torque. you no longer are wasting the power it takes to force the exhust gasses through the tight, restrictive manifold. they also help give you that cool "I've had some work done" sound. If you are having problems with drivability due to cold weather there are several steps you can take to help heat the carb. In the winter I run a super six aircleaner set up to draw heated air from around the headers and I took some 1/2" copper tubing and made it into a "U".I attached it to the underside of the intake manifold then ran one of the heatercore hoses through it. Using both of these things I have few problems driving in the coldest of weather.
Reman carbs are not "junk" they are just rarely setup for a slant. If you get a reman carb, the first thing you do is take it out of the box AT THE STORE, and work the throttle. make sure there is no play where the shaft comes through the body of the carb. the other problems tend to be incorrect float height and improper pupmshot and or incorrect metering rod height. all of which are not difficult to adjust.
As for the cam stock is fine unless you are looking for some extra power. from what I have read on this site your best bet is to call Comp Cams and describe your setup. They will recomend a cam that will compliment your individual setup.

im gunna deck it a bit and clean up the ports a bit.....how bout a demon 2 bbl? any good for this motor set up? thanks yall
