Okay,
I have a 71 demon 225cu /6, factory a/c and power steering. I want to keep the /6 but want to build the engine so it will turn some heads. I goto a lot of car shows and cruise in's so I will be driving to and from.(no trailering) Don't know much about building engines but I have a friend that knows a lot about Mopars and engines. I have been doing some research and I do like the offy valve cover. I want to have coated headers but do I go with the duals or single exaust? What intake do I use? Clifford ? Hyper-pak style? Also 2 barrel or 4? All suggestions would be very helpfull.
Thanks,
Kevin

There are all kinds of stuff you can get for your engine that will make it look weird and unusual, but if you want any of it to function properly you are going to have to rework the head at least.

For sheer curb appeal a nice paint job, chrome or cast valve cover and special intake will do the job. How about a triple carb or hyper pak manifold. You may be able to tune it so it will run without any internal modifications, but the big money will be in the internal work no one will see. If youre just showing it off that may not be an issue.

What the... Is that a brake booster on the LH side? What's it doing over there?

I cant get used to the grille, but I like the engine.

Remote brake booster, very common in England, Australia and South Africa. Hydraulic line runs from master cylinder on RH side to slave cylinder at rear of remote booster. Pressing brake pedal actuates slave cylinder which actuates booster. Advantage here is not just in packaging: It makes it possible to boost the front brakes and leave the rears unboosted.

Grille is a stock '69 Australian VF Valiant item.

Hey steponme,
I plan of doing or getting the inside work done. I just was not sure about the intake, carb, and exaust. Just looking for some direction. I don't plan on going to the drag strip but do want to get up and go. Thanks and please keep giving info.

there is all kinds of info on this site regarding hotrodding the slant six. The most bang for the buck will be in head work. There is a lot of hp to be gained through porting. You can also shave it about .060 to raise comp. without having to use premium gas. Once you get it breathing better it will respond better to bigger carbs.

Check the articles section of this site. Block prep, headwork, it's all covered.

Hey Dan,
You have any more information on the build for the setup in the pics, a link to more information etc?
