Your car doesn't have a 1 barrel 2 carbs, it has ONE two-barrel carb.

Seriously, get it running right before you start hotrodding it.

Id does not need to be very thick, since your car is probably not built up that much.

Do you mean that you have two one bbls (a la offy) ???

2 inch or 2 1/4 should be fine.

I would not spend too much money on your exhaust, though. Unless your engine is fairly built up, or you have a restrictive exhaust system to begin with, you will probably not attain much of a performance gain by going to a louder muffler.

Your best performance bets are going to be in the areas of making sure your timing is advanced enough, that your mechanical advance has got a good curve, that your cars(s) is/are tuned and jetted correctly, that your tires are inflated properly, that your brakes aren't dragging, that your front end is aligned.

Also, check your plugs to make sure they are good, and check your intake to make sure you have no intake leaks.

i had 2 1/4 on my car with the stock manifold and a 40 series delta flow. it should help your performance some. it helped mine going from the stock size to 2 1/4.

Buy some earplugs while your at it, the cool factor with the noise lasts only a few weeks, then it gets annoying, I run dual cliffords with 2 1/4" to the delta 50 series and then 2" over the rr end and to the tail. Its still noisy as all hell but its way quieter than the 40's.

I have delta 70s (deisel mufflers) and it greatly silenced the exhaust up.
