I had my 198 Head completely redone and I had the block bored 30 with new pistons. The head was shaved .060. Where can I find a camshaft???? I looked at comp, crane and edelbrock. I was a nice cam for a stout rebuilt motor. I am going to also see if I can find a super 6 set up so any help with the cam would be appreciated. Thanks

Stout buildup and Super Six do not go together. I speak from personal experience when I say that. A 390 Holley and an Offy intake will give you around 30 more horse at least.

As far as cams go, have you actually talked to any of the manufacturers or just looked at catalogs? Tim Cole at Comp Cams will fix you up in a heartbeat. Just give him your combo and tell him what you want to do and that will be it.

Uh...sure they do. Very well, in fact.

We don't have enough information from hcomj to give him a good recommendation. All he's said is that he's doing a "stout rebuild", which doesn't have any specific meaning. It can mean he's trying for extra durability, extra low-end torque, extra high-RPM capability...it could mean there's a particular 30mph-to-60mph highway onramp he's tired of being afraid of, it could mean he intends to drive the car in desert conditions and wants it to stay cool, it could mean he wants something unbreakable for his kid.

So, Hcomj: More information, please. How do you intend to use this car? What exactly does "stout" mean to you? What are you trying to improve? What are your priorities in terms of performance, reliability and fuel economy?

wow you all took one word and went with it. I just ment I thought this was a 300,000 mile engine. I went to every angle to try to get some miles out of it again. I just want somthing a little better than stock that will hit off the light. All I really needed was a cam company that delt with these motors. thanks Ill call comp cams.
