Post subject:  blue wire from ballast

well, my truck did not have a ballast resister, it had the eletronic spark control compuer mounted in the drivers fender, no ballast and no ignition module. in stead of the blue wire i am running one from ignition start power from relay mounted on drivers fender well to the positive side of coil, and one from the blue wire on the voltage regulator.

on the stock ignition that wire was dead somewhere between regulater and coil. is their some wire am may be missing that this would have already had in it? i have 12 volt on module with key on and 12 volt when starter relay is tripped.

There are several different control modules put out by Mopar, one with 4 wires, and one with 5. I would not trust my memory to put together something that has been changed the way it sounds like yours has. You need a shop manual, or Chiltons manual, or Haynes, or something with a diagram you can trust. Someone out there with a stock electronic Mopar ignition may be able to help you out, but both my cars have MDS ignitions now, and the electronic control modules are long gone.

bencrabtree is working in an HEI conversion from the original ESA computer. He is not using any 4- or 5-pin Chrysler module.
