Nuh-uh. If you install an 8-3/4" or 10-bolt (8-1/4") in your '62, you'll have to shorten the driveshaft regardless. The difference in driveshaft length isn't due to the trans tailshaft, it's due to the wheelbase of the car and the forward projection of the rear axle.Quote:
