After drilling that missing drain hole at the lifters

Today I decided to take out the valves so I could send the head it to the shop

and what I found was allot of carbon on all the intake valves and by allot I mean big chunks

this head was never been rebuild, the block is
would this be becuase of worn guides /valves? or other factors?

I havent removed all of intake/ exhaust studs...but managed to break to 2 already into the head

Today also I thought my slant was coursed, I buyed some carb cleaner, after engine shutdown I waited 2 hours and used my carb cleaner, when I spayed in the carb everything was going good, but when I sprayed the choke, everything went very bad, the resistor bolt in the case that is placed in the exhaust manifold just broke!!!

When I fixed that problem (neede to remove resistor and linkage), I satarted the engine and a big *clak, clak, clak* sound whas there and more when acelerating engine, took me 3 hours to silence that noise, heater for the choke resistor somehow bend and some air was entering or exiting by there.

That crud on the valves is perfectly normal these days, you find it on the intake because is is the crud in the gas burning and sticking to your intake valves.

On the dyno around here, all race gas engines look fantastic, all pump gas engines have hard soot stuck to the intakes even after just a few pulls.

I found and fought this problem for years on my GTO. Trying different guides, undersize guides honed by hand to each valve, different seals...and still after just a few months would see crap all over the valves...finally with access to dyno and people with experience of such stuff, did we figure out what it was.

Bad guides shows up as a wet buildup not hard and solid. The oil stays soft on the valve and stays that way from absorbing fuel.

I know that may not make sense to some...but it is what I've found, and I'm sure I'm one of the few that has taken the time to try mutiple solutions with the same heads and still see the exact same problem without change.
