Is anyone using this?
Would it be better than a carb?
It seems like the installation is simple. I wonder if it would improve power and MPG.

You won't get better MPG out of this setup; it's far too big for most street-driven slant-6 applications, and most who've tried it even on size-appropriate applications have wound up yanking it back off again. It is generally poorly implemented, clunky and difficult to dial in to work right.

You can do a LOT better for a LOT less money, if you're determined to have throttle body fuel injection, using wrecking yard parts.

I am running that same TB and injectors on my 64 Dart (hot motor build), but driving it with a Megasquirt programmable ECU. Don't know if that Holley computer is any good, but the 1994 ECU that came with my ProJ setup was GARBAGE. Was an analog ECU, not that digital one though.

Throttle response, power, and mileage are very good, after installing the Megasquirt ECU and tuning.

I wouldn't use that ECU, the Commander 950 ECU will drive the setup much better...BUT, its $$$ and you'll have to program your own fuel and spark maps, etc...(get a laptop...)

The software is ok to work with, but you'll need to have some time and smarts to tweak all the variables.

The MS setup would be first on my list, from the feedback it's gotten here, but I already have the 950 MPFI kit squirreled away for the next project...

That seems to be the experience most people have. The hardware's not super-advanced, but it's not godawful, either. It's very similar to what Holley made for the '88-'91 Dodge V6 and V8 trucks (even uses the same Bosch mini injectors). It's the software and firmware that causes all the problems.

Sandy has done extensive work adapting GM TBI components (cheap, reliable, readily available) to Chrysler applications -- you may want to ping him and see what his latest update is.

The ECU and harness is like $600, plus then you have to have a laptop to program it with a serial port (no USB here, and needs to be win95/98)...

The full blown MPFI 'universal kit' from Summit is like $1600.....*ouch*, plus you still need machining done, and the laptop (e-bay or second hand comp shop at $300+)

That's why MS is getting to be the shiz...

Wow, that 950 ECU has really come down in price. Probably due to MS competition. It was around $900-1000 when it came out. $600 is actually not a bad deal if the harness is any good. MS is about $250 for everything plus a lot of hours.
