Never ordered from, or heard of this place until about an hour ago.. but with a 7 year, 100,00 mile warranty it looks good.http://www.hiperformer.com/plymouth-duster-parts.html |

Heck, no. An engine costs a lot of money, effort and time. I don't give a fig what kind of warranty it comes with; I care what kind of skill and what kinds of parts went into it. The only way to know for sure is to be able to talk to the guy(s) doing the actual work. The long warranty included with "reman" parts (everything from starters and alternators on up to engines) is nothing but a sales gimmick. Given the thrown-together, craptacular nature of "remanufactured" parts in general, I avoid them entirely. I sure won't have a "reman" engine or trans! |

I agree... and anyway for $1200 you can have a local shop do the same work, if not less then that. |

Ok thanks for the replies. I was just trying to see what options i have for the engine when the time comes. I figured that the word re-manufactured usually means garbage, but since they are an american company, that maybe someone from here might have heard of them or knew someone that had done business with them. To me though, $1200 seams like a good price for a new engine. But then again, i'm still relatively new to all of this so i guess a PAW or other vendor rebuild kit would be better in two ways. 1. i would get to save money, and 2. i would be able to take pride in saying that I rebuilt the engine myself. This probably wont be happening until the end of the summer anyway. Thanks again. |
