NLM found this thread regarding installation of a 318 into a '65 A-body using '88 Toyota Supra engine mount insulators with '67-'72 A-body brackets. Looks kind of interesting. The '88 Supra uses a 181 CID inline Six, normally aspirated or turbocharged, and the motor mount insulators look like this: ![]() Beck-Arnley 1041240 or Anchor 9034. Dimensions of this insulator look like they might be a good "problem solver" candidate for early A-body cars, but without having the insulators in hand, it's difficult to tell. |

I'd be happy to give it a try, but I don't have the 67-up brackets. Anyoe have a sets they want to send me? The engine is out and ready MJ |

I don't think the "67-up brackets" comment would apply to these mount biscuits' use in early slant-6 A-bodies; I'm guessing you could carry on using your existing brackets. |

That mount will not work on a 63-66 slant passenger side, without mods. The stock insulator has two wide spaced studs that fasten to the engine bracket. It is possible it might work on the driver side. |

The idea would be to use one of the two lower stud holes on the LH side. |

Sorry, Dan. I misread the original post. I thought we were talking about replacement mounts for the 63-66 slant, not V-8 conversion mounts.

I called Rockauto today about the stock slant six insulators. Their online catalog, showed the later spool mount for the 62-66 slant. The telephone person, told me the correct mount is no longer available thru them. I then asked about the Anchor 9034, and was told not in stock, needed to be ordered. I was trying to see if I could get a pair cheaply to try. I have a 66 with the engine just sitting in there. Real easy to try them. |

Pity Rockauto doesn't actually have 'em. www.partsamerica.com shows anchor 9034 as "Ships in 1 day", but their price isn't as friendly. On the other hand, they have a clearer photo of the part:

The Paddock shows the correct 62-66 slant six mounts on their website. I just ordered 2 of each at 17.95 ea. We'll see if they show up. |
