Hey all, So I am looking at my block wondering if there is any way to clean it without hot-tanking since I'm not planning on disturbing the crank or any of the main bearings. Should I try degreaser and pressure washing? Or not worry about it? Or run engine soup concoction through it once installed? What tricks have you guys used? MJ |

How dirty is it inside? Post some pics, or at least a description. Your best option may be "do nothing". |

Dirty would be just black and greasy insides. Its just a layer of crud. I dont have any pics handy unforntunately. I cleaned out the bottom fo the oil pan when I swapped it over. I just wanted to be sure short of hot-tanking it that I didn't need to do anything more to it. I figured an oil change every 1000 miles for a while would be the best. MJ |

Main bearings arent that expensive, if you hot-tank the block and crank, and plastigage the bearings you should be fine, it's not all that bad... |
