What is the min. valve to pistion clearance on the slant??

I have a new cam with lots more lift and duration so I want to be safe

.528 lift - 284 duration - .110 of head and .100 off block

Thanks.

Min valve-piston is 0.090". Best to install the cam, bolt the head on (2-4 bolts fine, 1 set of int/exh rockers) with no gasket, put some play dough on the piston with some spray lube on it (WD-40 or similar), turn the motor over, pull it back apart and measure the thickness of the play dough at the closest point of approach.

My guess is that you'll still be fine since the 225 has soooo much clearance.

I have a similar cam in a motor with 0.080"/0.180" angle milled head and there's plenty of clearance.

Thanks Lou,

I just wanted some numbers so that when I get the engine back I can put the clay in there and start checking.

I checked that cam in my 2.2 piston motor. I had over .150" and my deck height is -.028".
