Hi I have a '72 Dodge Challenger the motor was a 225 but has been swapped with a 6-cyl out of a Swinger not sure of the year. The numbers stamped on the side of the block are 2806880-10 any ideas what this motor is? It has smaller spark plugs than the 225. Thanks for your help. |

Bill Watson from the Forward Look group provides this info: ============================= For Chrysler's letter years : First run through : F - 1953 G - 1954 H - 1955 J - 1956 K - 1957 L - 1958 M - 1959 P - 1960 (except Valiant) Q - 1960 Valiant only R - 1961 S - 1962 T - 1963 V - 1964 Not sure about A thorugh E, but I believe it is : A - 1942 B - 1946-49 (first series) C - 1949 D - 1950 E - 1951-52 The second run : A - 1965 B - 1966 C - 1967 D - 1968 E - 1969 F - 1970 G - 1971 H - 1972 J - 1973 K - 1974 L - 1975 M - 1976 P - 1977 R - 1978 S - 1979 ================= Since you have a 63, I think your block should be stamped with identification starting with "T" and you do. My 1960 has the block stamped (top edge of water pump housing) stamped with identification beginning with "P". "vin 1 3 3 7 201635" definitions: --------------------- 1 Valiant line 3 upscale car line, V200 3 year, 1963 7 manufacturing plant number ( I forget which one) 201635 means 101635th car produced from this plant in this model year. Hope this helps. |

Hi, and thanks so much for replying to my question. The problem is I got the number wrong in my earlier post the correct number is 2806830-10 it's a 3 instead of an 8. I couldn't find the tag you were talking about but it's really hard to see up behind the coil so I haven't found that number yet. |
