Post subject:  Manual for a Stromberg WW Carb

I just got a stromberg ww remanufactured and i am wondering how to tune the thing. I got my engine started monday with this carb, but now it will not pull gas into the bowl of the carb. I am looking for a manual if anyone has a clue on where to find it i would appreciate it.

You'll find the service info for the WW that will work on a slant-6, in any factory Plymouth or Dodge factory service manual from '64 through '67, though be aware that only the '66-'67 units will work with an air cleaner that'll fit atop a slant-6 in a passenger car (the '65 and earlier units use the old fashioned clamp-band style air cleaner attachment method). Try to figure out what year and application your carb was originally intended for before it was "remanufactured"; there's a 4-digit number stamped just above the fuel inlet fitting. 3-273, for instance. What's yours?

I have a couple of these carbs brand new. They're well designed and reliable, and can generally be installed in place of a Carter BBD with a couple of "gotchya" items:

1) The choke lever is configured a little differently, so you have to get creative to make the choke rod attach and work right on the slant-6

2) The throttle lever has a bit of a deeper dropback, which hits some intake manifold castings. There's plenty of "meat" on the manifold for this unused area of the casting to be trimmed away with e.g. a hacksaw.

What exactly do you mean when you say it "won't pull gas into the bowl of the carb"? Gas is never pulled into the bowl of the carb, it is pushed there by the fuel pump.
