I have: 225 out of my '65 AUTOMATIC - 727 - that is getting rebuilt and put together slowly. What do I do if I want to put this motor in front of my A745 Manual tranny in my '69? Thanks, Dan |

Just make sure that the crankshaft's rear face is bored for a pilot bushing—many cranks originally used in front of automatics aren't—and install said bushing. I am fairly sure there's a "problem solver" thinwall pilot bushing available for cranks that weren't finish-bored to accept the standard pilot bushing. |

Don't know if it will work for slants but for LA motors without the bushing you can use a 92 or thereabouts roller bearing that fits the unfinish crank |

When I tried installing a manual behind an automatic engine years ago, I found the bushing from the parts store would not fit the hole in the crank. I put the bushing on a mandrel and in a lathe and cut down the outside to fit the crank hole. Problem solved !!

So you are saying that the engine side is smaller and I need to add a bushing to it and bingo - it will work? |

In general, a 65 crank should have the small crank flange / hub, the 69 should be the larger. If you have a "small hub" flywheel then all will bolt together. (be sure to install a pilot bushing as noted above)225 out of my '65 AUTOMATIC - 727 - that is getting rebuilt and put together slowly.
