Has anyone ever install a pinion gear on a '64, manual tranny?
How about a pic of the retaining clip so I can tell if I have the right one (baby)?

I finally tracked down one of these hard to find gears. I have what I think is the clip that holds it on. The old gear broke when I pulled the cable from the tranny. I can't figure out how to clip the new gear on. It has a slot on each side that I suppose the clip goes into. But there is no way I can see the clip fully seating. I'm sure I just don't know how it goes on. The clip looks like a "c". The slots in the gear are at the base. I hope someone has a clue about what I'm talking about. Thanks |
