ok, i really dont have the dough or really want to switch to a non points distributor that badly. i would like to get it working properly though. my vac advance can is a free breather. i found a coupla slants at the yard with the pointless distributors on, and their vac advance cans are intact, and move the guts that need to be moved, with no loss of vacuum. could someone tell me that one of these will work on my distributor.... please?!

The hole in the breaker point plate won't line up with the pivot on the end of the non-breaker (we say "electronic") vacuum can, so no, unless you brutalize (bend) the vacuum advance arm or re-drill the point plate, it's not going to work.
