It's not specifically applicable to slant-6s. It means "Cubic Inch Displacement" and refers to total piston displacement of an engine. In the early 1980s, the US automakers changed to describing their engines in litres so people wouldn't realize what puny engines were being put in the junk on the market at the time. To convert litres to CID, multiply litres by 61. To go the other way, divide CID by 61 to get litres.
