Post subject:  Pulling My Slant Six this Weekend

I will be be pulling my SL 6 this weekend for a rebuild. Is there anything I should know now that would make it easier to put it back in? It is a D-150 truck with a A-833 OD. I read somewhere to leave the bellhousing attached to the motor and un-bolt the transmission from the bellhousing/clutch assembly. Is this the right way? Does the engine just slide out of the tranmission when you pull it?

Thanks for your help. This is my first time!

I unbolt the engine from the bellhousing, you do not have to come as far forward to get the engine out when doing it this way.
Remove the Bellhousing's dust shield and bottom cover but leave the bellhousing bolted to the transmission.
For a "first time-er" be sure to mark all connections and us plastic bags for keeping track of bolts and parts.
Take a few photos before starting.
