I know this will freak out the purists, but... can you adapt a turbo-350 tranny to a slannty? I ask only because I have a new re-built one in the garage  Having a budget sucks!!!

Easiest thing for you to do is sell the shivvy "tranny" and buy a good 904 to go behind your "slanty". No kidding.

P. S. - What's this going in, a Darty? ;)

Actually,
It's going into a T-bucket!!! Something a little diff.

Well, cool then! 8) I still say it'd be easier to score a 904 than adapt, but the overall project puts a different "slant" on things, and now your potential oddball combo makes more sense to me.

Post subject:  Free 904's

In case anyone can use one, I have several slant 904's free. They're rebuilders, but still FREE. Come pick up 1 or more.

One need not be a purist to know this is an incredibly, remarkably dumb idea. You'll spend a great deal of time, money and effort fabricating lots of custom parts (engine-to-trans adaptor plate, torque converter/flex plate adaptor/spacer plate, mounts, speedo drive adaptor, U-joint adaptor, you'd have MAJOR headaches coming up with a starter motor setup that would work, and you'd wind up with a much less durable, much less efficient transmission.

Stupid idea, any way you slice it.

It means one might want to take a moment, pause and reflect upon its wisdom, yes, it means no.

Uh, Dan, did you read where he's putting it in a model T? :? Still propbably not the best route, but not dumb like putting it in a Valiant or something!

Starter motor? Who needs a stickin starter motor? Bring back the hand cranks! ;)

If your on a budget, it will cost you more time/$$/headache to adapt one to a slant then to grab a free 904 offerd to you (or go to a wrecking yard for one) and have it rebuilt.

Put a Chevvy V8 in front of the TH350.

Daaaaammmmmnnnnnn!!!! First off: Iguess it means no, could have been stated a little simpler, but....... 2- It's a T-bucket, not a Model T. Really, a T-bucket doesn't even come close to a traditional T. 3- I like to be different. Most everyone runs a Chevy in most " Hot Rods" regardless of car make. Pretty boring. So I will put a slant in my T-bucket. Just looking at all potential options.

Great to see someone thinking different. You can mate the 350 to the slant but you will pay for using your imagination. Wilcap shows an adapter so give them a call. Heres their site:
