I've located a 70 Dart with a slant six and restoration potential. The engine really runs good. How can I tell if it's the 170 or 225 engine? Could it also be a 198? Thanks.

By the way, the casting number on the block is 2806830-2 if that helps.

170 was not available in '70 in North American Darts. Engine options were 198 or 225. Both use the same block. Fifth digit of the car's VIN will tell you which engine the car shipped with: "B" for 198, "C" for 225. Engine ID numbers stamped on a pad just below the frontmost or rearmost spark plug will tell you what the present engine is.
