 Post subject: engine specs - HELP!!

I desperately need to know the main and rod bearing clearance specs for a 225, my Detroit Iron disc wont work, I spilled beer on it.

Clearance Desired: .0005" to .002"

Maximum Allowable: .0025"

(From Service Manual)

but I'd bet you would get by just fine all the way to .003"

Damn that was a quick reply, Thanks. It Plastigaged out to .0015 on each main journal. Hopefully the rest of it is as consistant. thanks again, mike

What are the torque specs for the mains, rods and head?? I'm trying to get this thing together quickly so I can go out of town for a funeral and I don't want to leave it apart while I'm gone. Thanks, mike
