I am the new and very proud owner of a '64 Dart GT. It has the 225 engine, single barrel carb. I am looking for a little boost in power. I am looking into the Offenhauser two single barrel carbs intake. What I was really looking for is a three singles in a row intake...have you seen this anywhere? Also wanted to make dual exhaust...any help you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

The dual one barrel offenhauser setup is probably the easiest to install on your slant. Its made to work with your current throttle linkage. A 4 barrel manifold would probably make more power but you really need to have a cable throttle, they were on 64-66 V8 cars. I don't believe there is a triple one barrel but there is a triple side draft webber manifold. Dutra Duals would work well with your intake manifold and D.D. are much more dependable than headers. |

It is a little more expensive than 3/2 headers but these are also more durable than headers. You can also do a search in this forum to find lots more information on the Dutra setup. Also, some money can be saved by utilizing a modified stock manifold for the rear half of the duals, again information is provided in the link above. There are some other intake options include the proline setup that was being offered on this site for a while, along a personal issue came up and I have not seen anything posted on the proline setup for some time (again another search for proline carb on this board with provide considerable reading materials). There are other options for carb setups lots form the Land of Oz (australia) and I will let someone more familiar with these options chime in. Brian |
