just put in a 225 where my 170 had been-- anyhow --should a 170 carb bbs work for the 225 holley? the car will not accelerate correctly -- this happened on another holley equipped 225 (swapped the 170bbs on) -- put the old holley on & the car ran great. I also measured the base opening & was surprised at the difference in the size-- Would like to use bbs carb -- have more parts-- only 1 holley --- also the gasket did not cover the hole used on the holley style carbs-- could this be a problem for the bbs? Anyhow I have a larger bbs & the holley that came on the engine(1965 225 --50k motor) & will experiment with them on Sunday Anyones experience in this area would be appreciated-- I don't think trans-x will help in this case. Just for your info. The 1965 170 standard shift had a smaller holley carb, then the 170 auto, or the 225 standard and auto. I don't know what other years had this difference. |
